What the client needed
Schedules were built from habit rather than demand, so some shifts had too many people and others too few. The resort wanted staffing that follows occupancy and events.
Demand changed daily with occupancy and events, while schedules stayed fixed, so some shifts carried extra staff and others ran short.
What we built
- Automatic schedules driven by occupancy and demand
- Department rules for every role
- Data refreshed and routed to managers automatically
How we solved it
We studied demand patterns for each department and turned them into rules, so schedules adjust as bookings change.
Demand patterns were studied department by department and turned into scheduling rules. Fresh data flows in automatically, and managers receive schedules that reflect the days ahead.
The outcome
Overstaffing fell by 60 to 70 percent in key departments, and labour costs now follow real demand.
Staffing now follows real demand, labour costs are better controlled and teams work at the right size every day.
