Overview

Divine College of Medical Sciences and Hospital is a well established institution in Haridwar, India, serving both as an academic college training future medical and allied health professionals and as a working hospital delivering care. Despite the scale and reputation of the institution on the ground, its digital footprint was minimal and no longer reflected the quality of the work being done.

The organisation needed a website that could work for two very different audiences at once. Prospective students evaluating courses and admissions, and patients or families looking for information about hospital services. Both audiences needed to find what they came for within a few clicks, and both needed to leave with a credible first impression.

The Challenge

Institutional healthcare websites face a particular challenge. They serve multiple audiences with different intents, they need to feel credible and authoritative, and they sit in a search landscape dominated by directory aggregators and larger, better funded competitors. Generic templates could not solve that problem and a site that looked like every other college page in the region would not either.

The brief was to build from the ground up on WordPress, use hand written HTML, CSS, and JavaScript throughout, get the information architecture right for both audiences, and establish a technical SEO foundation strong enough that the institution could compete in search on the strength of its content rather than on paid visibility alone.

What We Built

We designed and built dcmsh.com end to end using WordPress as the content management foundation with custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript throughout. Every template, section, and component was written for this project rather than assembled from generic themes. This approach gave the institution full control over performance, search behaviour, and visual identity.

The information architecture was designed around real user journeys. A prospective student can reach admissions information in two clicks. A patient can find department or specialist details equally quickly. Admin workflows for publishing news, updates, and programme changes are simple enough to run without developer involvement.
